Fish is kind of a taboo topic for me. I've only recently gotten on board the fish train and I'm still extremely particular about the kind of fish I'll eat, and how its prepared. I generally stick with salmon and cod, both pretty mild. I recently added mahi-mahi to my short list because of how subtle and tender it is. Its the kind of fish that really takes on whatever sauce or flavor its cooked in. After some subtle pushing fro...

When my daughter first started eating foods she ate pretty much everything; salmon, chicken, fruits, and vegetables. As she's grown into a full blown toddler, at 18 months she's developed her own personal sense of taste. She likes what she likes and wont humor us by eating pan roasted cod anymore. Something she does love, as any kid would, are chicken nuggets. When white meat chicken is pounded thin and breaded, well she goes...

I got the idea from a few different people to start implementing menu planning into my life. This can be super helpful with busy family life when you don't always have time to run to the grocery store every day for different dinner plan ingredients. I decided to do the following:

Sunday night - leftovers or takeout

Monday night - meat (ground beef, steaks, etc)

Tuesday night - fish

Wednesday night - chicken

Thursday night - dairy

Can you have a high holiday season without discussing the ever popular beef brisket? I really don't think it would be possible. In my home growing up, each holiday was marked with its own special foods. Brined turkey on Thanksgiving, almond macaroons on Passover, and brisket on Rosh Hashana. My mom used to make the same amazing brisket each and every year, God forbid she try a new one or we would all protest. Briskets are a gr...

If you are interested in making the easiest pizza dough in the entire world, look no further. This recipe is not my own, but it is too good not to share. The dough comes out perfectly every time, the perfect fluffy, springy texture without any stickiness. The baked product is crunchy and tender, just how you want a pizza to be. I pre-bake the crusts for an even crispier texture, but you could just dump a bunch of toppings on t...

As a mom I struggle with getting my daughter to eat healthy, protein filled dinners. When the day flies by I need something I can whip up and have on the table in a few minutes. This recipe is it! I use whatever leftover roasted or steamed veggies I have in my refrigerator, add a few spices and some bread crumbs and tadaaaa, delicious tuna patties. Your kids will love these.

1 can of tuna

1/3 cup panko br...

You guys have probably noticed how much I love citrus and salmon together. Lemons, limes, orange, grapefruits they all pair perfectly with fish. This is a quick and easy salmon to throw together in under 30 minutes and can be served as a started or as a weekday main. AND its been child approved. What else can you ask for in a dish?

2 Tbsp brown sugar

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 tsp chili powder

Zest of one lemon

1 tsp cumin

Indian spice rubs are warm, spicy, and incredibly rich. Rich in color, and rich in flavor. This salmon is all of those things. Its flakey, moist, citrusy, slightly spicy, and extremely delicious. Make it for dinner tonight! I served it with baked potatoes coated in the same spice blend, they were fabulous. It would also be delicious on top of a salad, or with coconut rice.

2 Tbsp tandoori masala spice blend*

Zest o...

Chicken nuggets are a crowd pleaser, no matter the crowd. Adults, kids and everyone in between we all can enjoy a chicken nugget. While frying chicken is absolutely delicious, its also such a mission! Flour, egg wash, crumbs, heat the oil, and fry each individual piece. No thanks. This recipe is just as delicious, and the whole pan cooks at once in the oven! Homemade crumbs take this to the next level and who knew rice krispie...
